Build the Mechanical Shield, layer by layer

Five decisions create one polished finish: prepare, treat, moisturize, prime, perfect.

The sequence has two zones. Climate Control and serum prepare and treat the skin. The final three formulas create the topical color architecture called the Mechanical Shield. Keeping those zones distinct gives lighter formulas direct contact first and reserves the richest, most film-forming textures for the surface.

Begin with Climate Control, the preactivated hydrating gel essence that prepares clean skin for treatment.

Smooth a light layer over freshly cleansed skin before the selected serum. Give the gel essence a moment to settle, especially when the routine will continue into primer and foundation.

Climate Control is a skin-barrier preparation step, not a makeup primer. Its light gel-essence vehicle spreads hydration across the outer surface before a concern-specific treatment is placed. MakeSense Silk Primer appears later for a different job: refining the interface between moisturizer and foundation.

Place the chosen serum on prepared skin, then let treatment meet the concern before richer layers arrive.

Choose one serum for the client's priority and apply it after Climate Control. Keep the pass thin, avoid stacking several treatments by default, and allow a short dry-down before moisturizer.

WHY

preparation comes before targeted treatment

A serum is selected by concern, so its identity changes while its placement does not. It sits between the light hydration step and the emollient seal. That position gives the treatment formula an even prepared surface without asking it to move back through moisturizer, primer, or foundation.

DayTime Moisturizer is the first Shield layer: comfort underneath, a flexible surface above.

After the serum settles, press on a light, even layer of DayTime Moisturizer. Cover the full complexion area without leaving heavy pockets around the nose or hairline. The goal is a comfortable, continuous base for the two makeup layers that follow.

Moisturizer begins the Mechanical Shield because it is the transition from treatment to surface architecture. Its emollient layer supports flexibility and slows visible dryness, while an even application gives Silk Primer a consistent interface. It belongs inside the Shield; Climate Control and serum remain beneath it.

MakeSense Silk Primer turns moisturized skin into a smooth, even makeup surface.

Use a thin veil over the areas where foundation will sit. Press and glide instead of repeatedly rubbing the moisturizer underneath. Pause until the surface feels even, then move directly to MakeSense Foundation.

Silk Primer is the middle Shield layer. It does not replace Climate Control because the two formulas work at different interfaces: the gel essence prepares the skin barrier, while Silk Primer refines the visible texture between moisturizer and color. That distinction protects both placement and product identity.

MakeSense Foundation is the final layer. Coverage completes the Shield over a prepared, refined base.

Apply MakeSense Foundation last, using thin coverage and building only where more is needed. Work across the primed surface without disturbing the layers below. The finished complexion should look continuous, not coated.
