Why does LipSense burn or tingle when applied?

A brief LipSense tingle can occur as the cosmetic-grade SD40 alcohol evaporates on application. Drier lips often feel more, while well-conditioned lips may feel less.

Apply only to intact, clean, dry lips. A short sensation that settles is different from discomfort that persists, increases, or feels concerning; in that case, stop and remove the product gently.
