What is the LipSense Permeable Polymer Matrix?

How does the Permeable Polymer Matrix work?

LipSense® Long-Lasting Liquid Lip Color, our transfer-proof long-lasting liquid lipstick, uses the patented Permeable Polymer Matrix for waterproof, kiss-proof, transfer-proof wear for up to 18 hours. LipSense® Moisturizing Gloss is the amplifier: it seals the color film and brings vitamins and support ingredients, such as vitamin E and Shea Butter, to the lips. See the LipSense color-film record. On the label, Acrylates/Octylacrylamide Copolymer forms the continuous color film in an Alcohol Denat. base, which lets each thin layer set quickly. LipSense® Moisturizing Gloss seals in the LipSense® system’s iconic 18-hour wear. The shea-butter-infused finishing step keeps lips soft, smooth and deeply hydrated. Beauty Book 2026 (p. 38). How do I apply LipSense so the matrix works?

For lasting LipSense, start with completely clean, dry lips, shake Color vigorously, sweep three very thin layers in one direction, let each one flash off—the cool feeling is the layer setting—then seal the third layer with required Gloss. See the application protocol.

  1. Start with clean, dry lips and shake the Color well.
  2. With lips parted, sweep three thin layers in one direction, letting each set before the next.
  3. Seal the third layer with LipSense® Moisturizing Gloss before you press your lips together.
  4. To take it off, dip the Ooops!™ Lip Color Remover wand, gently rub the applicator over the color, and wipe clean with tissue.
