The company & its story

Why doesn’t SeneGence use outer product cartons?

Quick answer

Your product arrived without a box because SeneGence deliberately leaves off the printed retail outer carton—the bottle is not missing a piece. SeneGence reports that more than 1.2 million individual retail outer cartons were not used from the start of tracking in 2002 through its latest responsibility report (2026 edition). Everything the carton would have told you, the ingredients and directions, is printed on the container itself.

That choice has a name: the Naked Bottle. Today the change is complete. SeneGence reported zero outer cartons used on products in 2026. See the carton record or the zero-carton record. Your order still ships in a protective box; the retail carton is the only thing left out.

For you, it is less to open, flatten, and throw away, and the same care shapes the formula inside the bottle.

What does the Naked Bottle change?

The carton is never printed, so it never becomes waste. Behind the scenes, the shipping cardboard is handled with the same care. Every SeneGence fulfillment center uses a cardboard baler for recycling, repurposing, or waste-to-energy routes. See how shipping cardboard is handled.

The Naked Bottle is one piece of the SeneGence Green Initiative; Clean Beauty covers the formula standard, and the Four Pillars answer places this packaging choice among the company's wider commitments.
