Clean Beauty is one of SeneGence’s Four Pillars. How do botanicals and extremophiles shape our formulas?

Calanthe discolor orchid stem cells, yeast-and-kelp bioferments and true extremophile ingredients bring nature into our anti-aging technology. What does SeneGence formulate without?

SeneGence’s official Clean Beauty Standard formulates every product with NO:

• Animal by-products

How many substances does the EU ban in cosmetics?

The European Union now prohibits 1,700+ substances in cosmetics and restricts hundreds more. SeneGence voluntarily formulates to that cosmetic standard, then goes further with its own ingredient screening and its eight formulation categories.

Can Clean Beauty contain fragrance?

Yes. When we use fragrance, it meets IFRA (International Fragrance Association) safety standards and contains no phthalates, parabens or formaldehyde. Some SeneGence products are fragrance-free, so you can choose by the exact formula and the experience you enjoy.

How is SeneGence mica sourced?

The shimmer you enjoy begins with a supplier choice. SeneGence buys mica only from suppliers with strict policies against child labor and active responsible-sourcing programs, and requires proof of both before approving a supplier.

What happens when ingredient safety data is unsettled?

We take a precautionary approach. If safety data is incomplete or disputed, or an ingredient is heading toward restriction, we leave it out even when it is still legal. We would rather reformulate early than defend an ingredient later.

The standard reaches beyond a prohibited list: an ingredient has to earn its place, and new information can change that choice. The maintained NO List and safety-and-quality review continue as formulas are developed and updated.

Is SeneGence cruelty-free, vegan-friendly and gluten-free?

Where can I check my product’s full ingredients?

Start with the label on the product you own: it is the official ingredient source for that product. Read it alongside the matching page on senegence.com, where you can also find the formula’s directions.

Ingredients are listed from highest to lowest concentration using standard international INCI names, so it is easy to check them against anything you want to avoid. Match the full name when you check an ingredient.

Do some SeneGence products make their own formula promises?

Some formulas add their own promise. SeneGence Nail Polish gives richly pigmented, glossy color with its own 17-Free formula. LipSense® pH Glossy Tint gives nourishing comfort and high-shine tint, made without parabens, gluten or animal by-products. Melt-Away Deep Cleansing Balm melts from balm to oil for a full-face first cleanse, with Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Rosa Canina (Rose Hip) Seed Oil and Sclerocarya Birrea (Marula) Seed Oil for softness.

Does SeneGence makeup contain lead?

No. SeneGence keeps zero tolerance for lead, even where the law permits it. Read the SeneGence formulation standard.

How should I read online ingredient hazard scores?

SeneGence judges each finished formula, not a single ingredient alone. If an ingredient’s safety data is incomplete, disputed or heading toward restriction, SeneGence leaves it out even when it is still legal, and finished formulas are tested too: EyeCrème is ophthalmologist tested and safe for contact-lens wearers. Are SeneGence products silicone-free?
